- Trail: Tiger Wash towards Brown's Canyon
- Miles: 5.62
- Riders: Self - Celia - Cindy - Jamie
- Horses: Drifter - Dirt - Bugsy - Roger
- Dogs: no dogs
Notes: New Years eve ride. Hauled out to the wind mill and rode toward Browns Canyon. It's great ground for Drifter's bare feet. Lot's of sand and some rock but didn't miss a step or chip. I'm hoping to keep him barefoot. He did awesome. I've been roping off him - played with the cutting "flag" - he did really well on that thing for neither of us knowing what we are doing.
I skipped the mandatory annual New Years day ride. I got COVID over Christmas - thought I had that beat and caught some god awful flu on top of it and thought I was dying for sure. Thank GOD for good friends. Phil came over in the middle of the night to stay with me so I didn't have to die alone. I wasn't about to go to the hospital knowing it's over for sure once they stick you in the ER and on a respirator. I'm typing this - so I obviously survived the night. The next day, Cindy G gave me the contact info for Arizona IV medics. A nurse comes out to your house and hooks you up to a mega IV drip full of electrolytes, vitamins and anything else you might need. She added stuff for nausea, congestion and something to help me sleep. It was a game changer. I am now on the mend and kicking back until I feel closer to 100%...at this point I don't even remember what 100% feels like but I think I'm going to live.
