Almost back to our property |
- Trail: State Land - Aguila
- Miles: 5.64
- Riders: Self
- Horses: Jack - Drifter
- Dogs: Hank
Notes: A quick evening ride. I'm thinking Drifter is in the terrible two's even though he's just at 18 mos. He constantly picks at Jack. Biting him on the rump, hip or stifle. He acts like he's pissy because he can't walk as fast. Then he'll trot up - grab hold of Jack's reign and try to run under his neck. Jack is more patient than I am. I'd kick his head in. As it is - all I can do is bop him on the nose or snub him up close enough he can't dive under his neck. I guess if that's the worse he does, he's doing pretty good.
I rode by Crandall's place on our way back. Dave said Cindy was out riding and I'd missed her by 15 minutes. I tied Drifter to the rail so we could travel faster...and it does him good to leave him tied while we ride off. I met Cindy coming back from the south tank on Jimmy.
It's hard to believe it's winter in other parts of the country. Beautiful sunny days with cool evenings here so far.
